ISEE®
The ISEE®, also known as the Independent School Entrance Exam, is used for admission to private middle and high schools around the country. The exam has four main levels: Primary (for students entering Grades 2 through 4), Lower (for students entering Grades 5 and 6), Middle (for students entering Grades 7 and 8), and Upper (for students entering Grades 9 through 12). Pegasus Test Prep currently offers tutoring for the Lower, Middle, and Upper levels.
Each examination assesses a student's overall verbal and mathematics skills, as well as his or her ability to write an open-ended essay. Although the levels cover multiple grades, each student's test performance is compared only to the performance of other students at his or her grade level. A rising 9th grader, therefore, is scored on a different scale from a rising 12th grader taking the same level exam. Additional information on the ISEE® can be found here.
