Frequently Asked Questions

What is your hourly rate?

All one-on-one admissions exam tutoring begins at $150 per hour. If a student's preferred meeting location is more than 20 miles from the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and Preston Road (Dallas, Texas), we charge a $25 distance fee per session to reimburse our instructors for time and travel expense.

Where do students meet with their instructors?

Assuming a distraction-free study environment, a student's home is the default location for all one-on-one tutoring. Please let our office know if your student would prefer to meet in an alternate location (e.g., public library).

Which materials do your instructors use?

Unlike other test prep companies, we reject a "one-size-fits-all" curriculum. As a result, our instructors have the flexibility to customize lessons to your student's specific needs. That said, our instructors primarily utilize official practice questions taken from released exams, which allows students to learn key strategies and concepts in their tested context.

How can my student Take a practice exam?

Your student can take an at-home practice exam by requesting one through his/her instructor. An instructor may also assign and request one based on student progress. After doing so, we will send you and your student an electronic form of the exam along with timing instructions for an at-home test administration. After completion, you student will return his/her answer document to us, and we will run and send a score report.

May I request a specific instructor for my student?

Certainly. However, we cannot guarantee an instructor's immediate availability. Many of our instructors have a large client base of satisfied test prep students, and word of mouth travels quickly. If an instructor is currently at capacity, we would be happy to place your student on a wait list for the next available instruction slot.

Should my student take the ACT® or SAT®?

There are many factors to consider when deciding whether your student should take the ACT or the SAT. Your student's at-home diagnostic will provide a data-driven starting point for this decision, and we will guide you in selecting the exam best suited to your student's individual strengths and weaknesses.
